Finished Editing

How's it going?

As I mentioned last post, I chose WeVideo to edit my opening, and I want to explain my choice because at first I was going to go with Adobe Premier Pro, and I'm sure most would've made gone with Premier. So, I took a day to play around with Adobe Premier Pro and began by importing some of my footage. I wanted to try and make that dark effect on a clip to create the sci-fi feel, but almost immediately I was lost. As you import footage, you are presented with many options on what you can do it, and I felt a bit overwhelmed. Learning how to do everything would've been great, but it would definitely take me time that I didn't have. That's why I chose to use We Video, and to this point I still haven't encountered any problems.

In fact, as I edited, I found an additional feature I didn't know WeVideo had to create the sci-fi feel I previously mentioned. Not only this, but once I found out I could add that effect, right away I knew how to apply it to all the clips that needed it. For me, WeVideo is a simple platform, and it may be because of how much experience I have with it, but it was just what worked the best for me on this project!

I think what took me the most during this editing process was adding in all the sound effects afterwards. However, they play such an important part in my film, especially since there is no dialogue. The film is composed of sound effects as well as the character's facial expressions. Thanks to FreeSound, a website where you can download free sound effects, I was able to put together everything I needed for my project. I did want to experiment with foley a bit and try to add some extra sounds, which I have a bit more time to do, so I'll bring an update if I do!

Here's a photo of the interface, just to share the general idea of how I search for each sound I'm looking for and then go through their large list of options. Thank you FreeSound!
